Position summary:

The key responsibility is to manage the content and delivery of a range of proprietary and bespoke indices in the fixed-income and equity space. The oversight of the administration of the existing indices as well as the on-boarding of new indices is an integral element of the position.

Duties & accountabilities:

Product delivery management:

  • Management of the production and delivery of the index products to clients on a daily basis.
  • Managing the entire product delivery cycle within the client’s service level targets.
  • Managing strict index delivery schedules
  • Ensure a seamless implementation into the existing workflow complying with both internal and external service agreements.
  • Develop a forward-looking view of broad market developments with an ability to understand the potential impact on the indices
  • The successful candidate will have and be able to demonstrate experience in and an academic understanding of fixed income/equity indices, management of client relationships, knowledge about the implementation of corporate actions, database design and external vendor management

Accountability and Ownership:

  • Engaging productively to ensure proper and timely delivery of assigned projects. Willingness to take ultimate responsibility for assigned deliverables.
  • Coordination of the team’s efforts by scheduling and assigning tasks, ensuring coverage and stepping in to take on tasks when required.

Customer service:

  • Clear communications to internal and external clients.
  • Delivery of new index solutions and projects within agreed service levels.

Quality Assurance:

  • Understanding and being able to perform the key functions of the team.
  • Reviewing and challenging the existing processes to ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of index data both in terms of accuracy and timeliness.
  • Driving and supporting the introduction of new measures to ensure quality throughout the end-to-end process of delivering indices to the clients.
Business competencies:

Education and experience:

  • University graduate or postgraduate, preferably in computing, finance-related or natural sciences.
  • Knowledge in Financial markets/fixed income/equity domain is must.
  • SQL, Advanced Excel and proven financial markets knowledge or knowledge of standard financial data vendor software are must.
  • Python is added advantage.
  • Research and valuation of fixed income and/or equity securities.

Commercial awareness:

The individual needs to be detail oriented enough to build high quality, superior products and possess the ability to understand business objectives and focus and prioritise multiple projects accordingly.

  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Experience writing logical mappings and transforming data, complexities range from basic unit conversions to data joining logic.
  • Ability to navigate various types of file deliveries (e.g., FTP) and archives.
  • Excellent communication skills to initiate and manage communication with third party suppliers and escalations to internal teams.

  • Ability to work with and motivate the team.
  • Support team members in their daily work and drive the delivery.
