The European Central Bank (ECB) maintained its interest rates, concluding a series of 10 successive rate hikes initiated since July 2022 to address surging inflation. While inflation rates have significantly reduced over the past year, and there are indications of a looming recession, the ECB has not ruled out potential future rate hikes. ECB President Christine Lagarde emphasized the importance of stability in the current economic climate, noting that the Eurozone’s economy might be more fragile than previously estimated.
